October 18th - November 30th
National Juried Art Show, Downtown Historic District Blue Ridge, next to the courthouse opens October 18th and runs through October and into November. Works of fine art from artists across the country. Only the best of the best were accepted by the show's judge. Show features 2-D and 3-D wares that are wide and diversified in style and medium, ranging from large stone statues and wood carvings to paintings, pastels and photography. November 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th
Blue Mountain Jam at Kiwanis Fairgrounds, located at Jones St & Austin St. Experience real mountain Blue Grass Music. Musicians are local players. November 6th, 13th and 20th
Winter Pickin, Enjoy Acoustic Musicians at Blue Ridge Mountain Arts Association, 420 West Main Street (Downtown Historic Blue Ridge across from City Park) Enjoy wonderful acoustic musicians. These are casual drop-in sessions, everyone welcome to join in or sit back and enjoy the great music. Every Thursday night from 6:00 to 9:00 PM through the winter months. November 7th and 8th
GoLite USARA Adventure Race National Championships, Blue Ridge is proud and excited to host the 2008 GoLite USARA Adventure Race National Championships on November 7th & 8th. This team driven race includes, mountain biking, hiking, and kayaking along the Toccoa River. Regionally qualified teams will converge in Georgia to compete in a grueling 24-Hour course. Teams compete in regional qualifying events throughout the year, all chasing the same goal of reaching the GoLite USARA Adventure Race National Championships. For more information call 706-632-5680

TELLABRATION, Storytelling for all, located at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church at the intersection of Hwy 515 and Forge Mill Road. Enjoy this 12th Annual TELLABRATION at 7:00 PM, which is open to everyone, so bring the family. For more information call 706-374-5156

November 29th
Light up Blue Ridge, located in Downtown Blue Ridge. Enjoy this old-fashioned holiday celebration sponsored by the Blue Ridge Business Association in downtown Blue Ridge. Street carolers, music and special events take place all day. Mr. and Mrs. Santa arrive on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. Visit with Santa and have photos taken in the gazebo in downtown Blue Ridge City Park. The lighting of the "Great Tree" takes place at dusk. November 30th
Santa Train, located in downtown Historic District of Blue Ridge. Santa Claus is coming to town by train. Sing Christmas carols on the train and visit with Santa. This ride has no layovers and is a 2.5 hour trip. Fun filled trip for the whole family. November 27th - December 23rd
Southern Tree Plantation, Blairsville, GA. Go ahead and pick out your Christmas tree this month when you visit the Southern Tree Plantation in Blairsville, GA only 30 minutes from Blue Ridge. The Southern Tree Plantation has over 25,000 Christmas trees of eight different varieties growing. Colorado Blue Spruce, Norway Spruce, White Spruce, Frasier Fir, Balsam Fir, Canadian Hemlock, White Pine, and Leyland Cypress are all presently growing in various stages on the Plantation. The trees are sold cut and B&B (with roots). At Christmas time you can cut your own, get a pre-cut tree or get one B&B to replant. Year-round they sell B&B trees for nursery and landscaping purposes. Also enjoy the many fun activities they offer year round, hay rides, pony rides, petting farm, wooden maze, marshmallow roasting, inflatable slide, mountain crafts and a miniature train ride for kids.
