Early summer is a great time to bring your motorcycle to the Blue Ridge mountains for some great scenic rides. As mentioned in earlier posts, Blue Ridge GA and it's surrounding North Georgia mountain communities have some great scenic roads that have challenges for all rider levels. Also, there are some great fire roads for supermoto bikes that want some off road fun as well.

There are several luxury cabins that have easy access for bikers, so you do not have to trailer your bikes if you want to travel light. For example, Harley Bear Hideaway is a Blue Ridge rental cabin designed to accommodate bikers. Below are just a few photos of Harley Bear Hideaway.

Also, make sure you click for more information on all the nearby Blue Ridge mountain activities to take full advantage of during your next motorcycle mountain getaway.

So tell your biker friends about this great mountain adventure just 90 minutes from Atlanta and enjoy the open mountain road this summer.

More on Fly Fishing for Trout in Blue Ridge

Several emails about fly fishing for trout in the North Georgia mountains, so I'm posting a photo of a guy from Chicago who landed a monster trout in Blue Ridge, GA along with his guide from Flies and Fletching. This is another testament to the productive trout rivers and streams of Blue Ridge, GA just 90 minutes from Atlanta. Many folks fly fish for trout below the Lake Blue Ridge dam (Toccoa tailwater), the upper Toccoa near Shallowford bridge (off Aska Road), Noontootla Creek (lots of trees so practice your roll casts) that feeds into the Toccoa, and Stanley Creek that feeds into the Toccoa from the Rich Mountain wilderness area.

Also, there are several North Georgia rental cabins in Blue Ridge that are on the lower Toccoa river, so you can trout fish from the banks of your cabin. Here's a picture of the Toccoa Overlook cabin that's available to rent for your next Blue Ridge vacation adventure.

The Blue Ridge, Georgia and its surrounding mountain towns offer some great scenic rides and twisties for all motorcycle enthusiasts.

Most bikers start at the intersection of US 76 and Hwy 5 in Blue Ridge Georgia and head east toward Blairsville, Georgia. This particular ride will take you less than 2 hours round trip to cover the thirty-seven mile loop. The twisties begin after you turn on Weaver Creek Road off of Aska Road and head toward Snake Nation Road as you approach Deep Gap (2,200+ feet elevation) near the Appalachian Trail head. As you ride further on you'll come to Highway 60 to loop back to Blue Ridge or head right toward Suches and Dahlonega for more technical mountain curves and the famous TWO bike restaurant and gathering place to relax before heading back home.
Also, the infamous Tail of the Dragon is a morning ride up to Deal's Gap in North Carolina. Try to go during the week to avoid the crowds and enjoy the crazy 318 turns that made it a biker's nirvana.
