Pickin' in the Park, Ron Henry Horseshoe Bend Park , McCaysville, GA. Come and enjoy Pickin' in the Park - every Thursday at 6:00 pm to dusk. Live music jams and pickin' on the banks of the Toccoa River at the Horseshoe Bend Park in McCaysville. Free Admission. And the park is wheelchair accessible. Come out and bring the whole family to enjoy the experience. Scattered picnic tables available, nice grassy lawn but you are also welcome to bring a blanket or chair. Firecracker Special Train Ride, Blue Ridge Scenic RailwayEnjoy the fireworks a day early and ride the Firecracker Special to McCaysville, no worries about where to park or sitting in traffic! Watch the fireworks from the comfort of your seat on the train or absorb the excitement around you by hanging out downtown. The fireworks are shot off from the top of Tater Hill outside out town, so can be viewed from anywhere in town. Train begins boarding at 7:00 pm and departs at 7:30 pm for a ride along the Toccoa River to McCaysville for the fireworks. Rockin in the Park, Downtown Blue RidgeEnjoy the music of three rockin' roll bands that will play from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in downtown Blue Ridge to celebrate the Fourth of July. Featured bands are Breaking Point, Surrender and Raven. The downtown merchants will be staying open until 9:00 p.m. Come down at 5:30 pm to the City Park for a plate of spaghetti for only $5.99 for adults and children are 1/2 price. Fireworks, Independence Day Celebration, Tater Hill, McCaysville, GA. The TriCities Business Association continues a long standing Copper Basin tradition of celebrating our nation's independence with a fireworks display from the top of "Tater Hill" in McCaysville a half an hour past sunset (approximately 9:30 pm). The fireworks can be seen from almost all areas of town. Stores & Restaurants will be open late. Other activities during the Independence Day weekend include an old fashioned street parade on Main Street in Ducktown, a Pancake Breakfast in Epworth and Miner's Homecoming activities all weekend.

Independence Day Fireworks Celebration, Blairsville, GA. This year's fireworks display will be held on Friday evening, July 3rd at Meeks Park at approximately 9:30 pm weather permitting. Fireworks are sponsored by the Blairsville-Union County Chamber of Commerce and United Community Bank, Blue Ridge Mountain EMC, Appalachian Community Bank, and Nantahala Bank & Trust.

July 3 - 5th Miner's Homecoming Weekend, Ducktown, TN. (20 minute drive from Blue Ridge)Enjoy an old fashioned 4th of July Celebration and walking parade. Activities kick off with the Tri-Cities fireworks in McCaysville on July 3rd. Saturday, July 4th, Pancake Breakfast at 7:00 am. July 4th Boat Parade on Lake Nottely, Blairsville, GA. The annual Union County Fourth of July Boat Parade will take place again at Lake Nottely Marina. Boats can be decorated in any theme they wish. Several creative boats are presented trophies, with a grand prize also awarded. Boats should line up at Lake Nottely Marina beginning around 11:00 am - 11:30 am. Boats will pass in review beginning at 11:30 am, then trophies will be awarded. The parade down the lake starts at 12:00 noon. There is no charge to participate in the parade. Visitors can view the parade from many locations around Nottely Marina.

July 15 - 26thGeorgia Mountain Fair, Hiawassee, GA. Georgia Mountain FairgroundsThis twelve day annual award winning fair, has arts and crafts, regional food, Pioneer Village with living exhibits, country, bluegrass and gospel music by nationally known performers. July 18 - 19th Butternut Creek Festival, Meeks Park, Blairsville, GA. This the 11th Annual Butternut Creek Festival at Meeks Park featuring 65 of the finest artists and crafters in the North Georgia Mountain area. The two day festival showcases the work of 65 of the finest artists and craftsman in the North Georgia Mountain area, in categories from basketry, fine art, fabric art, and decorative painting, to glass, jewelry, metal working, photography, pottery, and woodturning. July 24 - 26th and July 31 - Aug 2nd Classic Musical Comedy / The Fantasticks, Blue Ridge Community Theater. The Fantastics is one of the longest running plays off Broadway and is an American classic that brings audiences back again and again to hear the story of "A boy, a girl, two fathers, and a wall" and the music that defined generations. This is an evening of true theatrical magic. Showtimes are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm. and Sundays at 2:00 pm.
