Annual Merciers Orchards U-Pick Apple Event in September 2009

Mercier Orchards, a family owned and operated apple orchard, is nestled in the North Georgia Mountains. Opened in 1943 by Bill & Adele Mercier, Mercier Orchards is now celebrating 66 years of fruitful harvests. Mercier Orchards is known for its bushels of apples, bottles of fresh cider, jams, jellies and amazing pies, including their famous fried apple pie. Mercier's also offers a unique variety of farm toys, pet items, kitchen paraphernalia, home decor and a meat and cheese shop.

During the month of September, Mercier's is happy to share the experience with their "U-PICK" events. Take a tractor ride into the orchards and you'll get first pick at the best apples on the trees. The first tractor ride goes out around 10:00 am and it continues every 20 minutes until 5:00 pm. The apples that will be available for U-Pick are as follows: Empire, Smoke House, Jonagold, Gala, Golden Supreme, Baldwin, Golden Delicious, Suzuki, and Beni Shogan. Prices are $10 per peck or $15 for half a bushel. Tour groups are available, but you need to contact David at david.Lillard@mercier-orchards.com
